Additional information

The explosive properties of test substance (a mixture) were estimated based on a set of criteria to identify substances being potential explosives according to section R.7.1.11 of Guidance chapter R.7a of  REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.

Sreening procedure:

- The main component of test substance does not contain any chemical groups associated with explosive properties.

- The by product of test substance contains a chemical group associated with explosive properties which include oxygen. Taking this into consideration, the oxygen balance (OB) was calculated to be less than 200 using the mathematical equotation (Lothrop et al).

Sum formel C7H803S1, Mol.Wt:172.20; OB= -1600[14 +4 -3]/227.13= -139.37

Conclusion:

Based on the criteria as outlined in the Guidance the test substance is not a potential explosive.
