Guidance of ECHA Chapter R.7c (2008) indicates that the tetraethylene glycol substance is of low concern for bioaccumulation, as indicated by the estimated log Kow of -2.02 (i.e., log Kow is not > 3) and ready biodegradabillity of the substance. As log Kow is < 6, a preliminary estimation of BCF is made using the U.S. EPA BCFBAF (v3.16) model, giving the estimated BCF of 3.2 L/kg. Bioaccumulation in the terrestrial environment is also of low concern, considering the low potential of the substance to bind with soil, and its expected rapid degradation in soil.
