Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is hydrolytically stable based on a OECD TG 111 and EPA 161-1 followed study. The half-life of the substance in the atmosphere by hydroxyl radical oxidation was estimated to be 2.29 hours (Atkinson method). Two direct photolysis studies (EPA 161-2, OECD draft guideline and JMAFF-12 Nohsan No 8147) with continuous irradiation (xenon arc; wavelengths > 290 nm and < 800 nm) at 25 ± 2˚C are available. One study shows that the DT50 of the substance was estimated to be in a range of 60 – 64 days of summer sunlight at latitudes of 30°N - 50°N at pH 7. The second study indicates that the DT50 of the substance was 26 days, which is equivalent to 82 - 84 days of summer sunlight at latitudes of 30°N - 50°N. In addition, the quantum yield of direct phototransformation in water was determined to be 1.01E-05 molecules degraded/photon. Two studies on photodegradation in soil (EPA 161-3 and OECD draft guideline) are available. The DT50 values were determined to be 68 – 72 days for 14C-pyrazole labelled substance and 65 – 68 days for 14C-phyenyl labelled substance of summer sunlight (calculated for latitudes of 30 - 50°N).
