Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
352.4 °C

Any other information on results incl. tables

Results Summary

At the temperature 352.4°C an increase in the temperature of the sample in comparison to that of the oven could be detected; also signs of ignition could be observed. The test item AF-378 is considered as auto-flammable at 352.4 °C under the test conditions. After the test was finished, the test item was completely carbonized.

Temperature Data

The temperatures which were measured in the experiment are presented in the following table. As more than 118 values were recorded, only the values every 60 minutes (until the oven had reached the chosen temperature) are presented.

After the oven reached the temperature of 352.4 °C an ignition was detected and the test was stopped automatically. After test ending the test item was completely carbonized. The heating rate was 0.56 °C/min.

Deviations from the Study Plan and the Guideline

The following deviation from study plan and guideline EU method A.16 was stated:

The heating rate of the oven over the complete heating range was 0.56 K/min. instead of

0.5 K/min. This was considered as uncritical as the deviation is minimal.

The deviation was assessed and signed by the study director on 06 July 2017.
