Description of key information

In a semi-static test with renewal every 24 hours, fish (Danio rerio) were exposed to the substance at nominal concentrations of 0, 1.00, 2.11, 4.47, 9.46 and 20.0 mg/L (measured 83-115 % of nominal) during 96 hours. At and above 9.46 mg/L signs of toxicity (reduced activity and loss of equilibrium) and mortality were observed. The LC50 is 10.1 mg/L.

In a test according to OECD 202, 20 daphnids per concentration (nominal: 0, 6.25, 12.5, 25.0, 50.0 and 100 mg/L, measured (geometric mean): ND, 4.75, 9.75, 20.3, 42.5 and 86.0 mg/L) were exposed for 48 hours. Immobility was observed at concentrations of 20.3 mg/L and higher. The EC50 of the substance is 20.1 mg/L (14.9 mg/L measured).

In a study with a semi-static design (renewal on day 3 and 5) the vegative growth of Lemna gibba G3 was observed for a test period of 7 days by measuring the increase of frond numbers and dry weight. Lemna was exposed at nominal concentrations of 0, 0.298, 0.954, 3.05, 9.77, 31.3 and 100 mg/L The EC50 based on growth rate is 69.8 mg/L based on biomass, The NOEC based on growth rate is 3.05 mg/L based on frond numbers.

In a test according to OECD 209, bacteria in sewage sludge were exposed to 6.4, 16, 40, 100 and 250 mg/L of the substance during 3 hours under continuous aeration. The inhibition of total respiration was measured over a period of 6 minutes. The EC50 was 131 mg/L.
