Description of key information

A Measurement by a Calorimeter based method reported by Staveley et al found the melting point to be in the range of -137.6°C to -130.2°C.

Another study by Falbe supports this and quotes the melting point as -136°C.

A third source, Daubert quotes a melting point of -134°C

Although precise details of the test methods used are not quoted, the results obtained from 3 melting point studies on this substance are consistent with each other. Therefore they are considered suitable for use as part of the weight of evidence used for this endpoint.

Measurements by Staveley et al referenced in the J. Chem Society using a Calorimeter method found the melting point to be in the range of -137.6°C to -130.2°C. Another measurement by Falbe supports this and quotes the melting point as -136°C. A third source, Daubert quotes a melting point of -134°C. The arithmetic average of -134°C is selected as the key value for the CSA.

In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex VII, Information requirement section 7.2, this study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20°C and as such, no further work is planned
