Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference substance:
n-butyl glycidyl ether - ME1001
Contributing activity / technique for the environment
Name of activity / technique:
Use as a monomer in the manufacture of polymers

No release to the environment is expected, due to the substance being full reacted during the chemical process of polymer manufacture and the adding to the reaction vessel is done using a sealed system.
Environmental release category (ERC):
ERC3: Formulation into solid matrix
Contributing activity / technique for workers
Name of activity / technique:
Use as a monomer in the manufacture of polymers

No human health exposure is predicted during these scenarios. With no DNELs present, exposure will be controlled by the use of sealed systems where the follow of the substance is controlled. During the reaction from monomer to polymer the substance will be completely reacted and no residue monomer will be present in the final polymer, so exposure will not be passed down the supply chain to end users who are applying the coatings which contain the polymer made from the substance.

Should any exposure or handling of the substance be required, follow guidelines in the suplliers SDS for the raw material, using the recommended PPE and RPE. All effort should be made to not handle the substance directly.
Process category (PROC):
PROC 1: Chemical production or refinery in closed process without likelihood of exposure or processes with equivalent containment conditions
PROC 3: Manufacture or formulation in the chemical industry in closed batch processes with occasional controlled exposure or processes with equivalent containment conditions
Product category formulated:
PC 32: Polymer preparations and compounds
Substance supplied to that use in form of:
as such
