Additional information

Acute Oral toxicity

Currently, there is one key study available and additionally there is a reliable study existing, which may serve as supporting read across: rac-1-Phenyl-propylamine (CAS 2941-20-0).

The key study investigated the acute oral toxicity of (S)-1-Phenylpropylamine (CAS 3789-59-1) in rats, given doses of 200 mg/kg bw and 2000 mg/kg bw by gavage. In accordance to the GHS (Globally Harmonised System), the substance (S)-1-Phenylpropylamine should be classified in the hazard category 3. [Calvert Preclinical Services, 2000]

The supporting study was accomplished according to OECD 423. The acute oral toxicity of rac-1-Phenyl-propylamine (read across, CAS 2941-20-0) was determined to be 200-500 mg/kg bw. Thus, in accordance to the GHS (Globally Harmonised System), the substance (S)-1-Phenylpropylamine should be classified in the hazard category 3. [BASF, 1998]

according to Directive 67/548/EEC: acute oral tox.: R22 (harmful)

Acute Inhalation toxicity

Currently, there is no information available to cover this endpoint.

Acute Dermal toxicity
