Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

COLLECTION AND STORAGE

- Soil preparation (e.g.: 2 mm sieved; air dried etc.): Soils were air dried at room temperature and passed through a 2 mm screen prior to use.

Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM
- Type, size and further details on reaction vessel: 5 mL Luer lock syringes, each prepared with a 20 urn disposable
frit and closed with a cock
- Amount of soil/sediment/sludge and water per treatment (if simulation test): tubes were filled with 2 g of soil and ml application solution was pipetted onto the soil.
- Number of reaction vessels/concentration: 2
- Method of preparation of test solution: A stock solution of 1.23849 mg of the 1 4C-labelled test item in 10 mL of acetonitrile was prepared. To create application solution A, 0.81 mL of the stock solution was dried under a nitrogen stream and dissolved in 100 mL of 0.01 M aqueous CaCI2.Further solutions were prepared by diluting of solution A with 0.01 M CaCl2

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The adsorption behaviour of the test item was determined in five European soils,
two North American soils and one Japanese soil, which covered a range of pH from 5.2 to
7.6, a range of organic carbon content from 0.41% to 3.84%. The soils were classified by
USDA scheme into 5 different textural classes: 3 sandy loam, 2 silt loam, 1 loamy sand, 1
silty clay loam and 1 sand.
The Freundlich adsorption coefficients KF covered a range from 0 to 0.11 mL/g for seven
soils with a value of 1.8 for the Obihiro soil. The K F 0 C values ranged from 0 mL/g to 6.7 mL/g,
except for soil Obihiro the value was 65.8 mL/g. The overall mean Koc is 10.5 and the logKOC is 1.02. Thus, adsorption of the test item to solid soil phase is not expected.
