Additional information

The substance is a neutralisation salt (not in aqueous solution) obtained by mixing fatty acids and triethanolamine in which no covalent bond is formed. The salt is not obtained in aqueous medium. As a consequence the carboxylic group of the fatty acid will be dissociated already and consequently no dissociation reaction can occur. Furthermore, no dissociation is expected from the C-chain or triethanolamine in normal conditions.
