Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Do not breathe aerosol mists. If inhaled, remove to fresh
air and seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse for several minutes, with eyelids held open, under
running water. Get medical attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention, do not give
anything by mouth if person is unconscious.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Dry powder, foam, water
mist and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Combustion products may
contain carbon, sulphur and phosphorus oxides together with
some hydrogen fluoride gas.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Use a self-contained breathing
apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb preparations with sand or silicaceous earth or
collect solid by suction. Collected waste should be placed
in a labelled collecting container and disposed of at a
controlled landfill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure splashing is minimised. Use adequate ventilation to
ensure exposure to aerosols is minimised. Do not allow to
penetrate earth or drains (use a collecting reservoir). An
eye/emergency shower should be available. Workers should
wear protective gloves and eye/face protection.

Storage: Store in original container (metal or metal drums lined
with polyethylene) and keep cool and dry. Protect from heat
and light.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Other dangers: Exothermic reaction when overheated (>90 deg
C) or in contact with strong acids. Decomposition occurs on
exposure to sunlight.

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not economically possible

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None (FRG c.a. summary) [UK c.a.: No practical chemical
means of neutralisation appears possible]

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approved landfill site in accordance with
local regulations is recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not recommended in view of the high fluorine content (27
g/kg)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain
