Description of key information

The surface tension of benzylamine was determined according to OECD 115. Results revealed an averaged surface tension of a 1.0 g/L solution of 64.9 mNm ± 0.12 mN/m at 25.1°C and that, therefore, benzylamine in a 1g/L solution produces a small decrease of 7.09 mN/m of the surface tension of water (71.99 mN/m at 25°C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The surface tension of an aqueous solution of benzylamine was determined according to OECD guideline 115.

Results revealed that the averaged surface tension of a 1.0 g/L solution of benzylamine in water at 25.1°C was 64.9 mNm ± 0.12 mN/m.

Benzylamine in a 1g/L solution produces a small decrease of 7.09 mN/m of the surface tension of water (71.99 mN/m at 25°C).
