Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated (CASRN 135108-88-2) was determined to exhibit very low biocentration in freshwater fish (Cyprinus carpio). The test substance was not detected in the fish each time at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks in Zone 1 (0.3 mg/L) and in Zone 2 (0.03 mg/L) each. The detection limit was calculated at 5.0 -5.2 µg/g based on the calibration curve. Using the detection limit, BCF is calculated at 18 – 22 in Zone 1 and 209 – 219 in Zone 2. The calculated BCF values ranging from 18 to 219 are consistent with low log Kow, and carrying ionic charge(s) under pH conditions encountered in the aquatic environment. The substance therefore is of very low concern for bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms.

In addition QSAR models used to determine the BCF indicate that significant bioaccumulation is not to be expected:

- BCFBAF v3.01 (EPI Suite v4.10): BCF = 27.2

Using a weight-of-evidence approach on the available data, significant accumulation of the substance is not to be expected regarding the estimated BCF < 100.
