Description of key information

As explained in section 1.2, the solvent is not included in the substance composition as it is not considered part of the substance – it is a solvent that facilitates the manufacture of the final product by controlling the viscosity but does not itself take part in the reaction. According to Article 3(1) of the REACH Regulation a substance excludes any solvent which may be separated without affecting the stability of the substance or changing its composition.

However, if the solvent was gradually removed the residue would be a highly viscous compound and impossible to separate the ammonium salts of the acids, for testing purposes.

As such, testing has been conducted on the liquid mixture which includes the solvent. However, the "substance", which is the subject of registration is a UVCB salt and therefore a solid. Considering this notion a testing strategy has been developed to address the properties of the substance by testing the liquid mixture with the solvent level reduced as far as possible for data requirements that cannot be waived based on the state of the substance. Where testing is not required due to the solid nature of the substance, these have been waived accordingly.
