Executive summary:

The test item is a soluble substance under the test conditions and the test solutions were prepared by dilution of a primary stock solution and by directly dissolving the test item in the test solution. The effect of Titanium and potassium oxalate diluted in OECD LD 221 test medium at the definitive rates of 30; 40.6; 54.8; 74 and 100 mg test item. L-1onLemna minorwas investigated under laboratory and semi statics conditions.

Test item quantification was performed according to a validated analytical method (final report RRCo-000452_01) using a ICS-5000+ from Thermo (Dionex) ion chromatography to measure Titanium and potassium oxalate concentrations at 0-day and 7-day and at 2,3,4,5,6-day before and after renewal.

Since the deviation between the analysed concentrations before and after renewal was not always within the range of ± 20 % and since the test has been performed in semi-static conditions, analysis of the results were based on the geometrical mean exposure concentrations (18.1; 23.1; 28.9; 39.7 and 57.9 mg test item.L-1). A precipitate was occurred during the exposition probably due to a lower test item solubility in the test media.

The study is valid since average specific growth rate in the control is > 0.275 per day. (actual value: 0.3637).

All ECx, based on geometrical mean concentrations are summarized in the table below.
