Description of key information
In accordance with Annex IX of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical (REACH), information regarding the aquatic bioaccumulation is not mandatory for substances manufactured or imported in quantities of less than 100 tonnes per year. The log Pow was experimentally determined to be >6.2. However, in accordance with Chapter R.11 ECHA Guidance even though the Log Pow value is >4.5 at very high low Pow (>6) there is a decreasing relationship between log Pow and bioaccumulation potential, due in part to experimental errors in the determination of BCF values for very hydrophobic substances. In addition, the test substance may be considered readily biodegradable which may lead to relatively low concentrations of the test substance in the aquatic environment and thus to low concentrations in aquatic organisms.
