The flash point of Ginger CO2-se extract is 78ºC at ambient pressures.
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with section 2 of REACh Annex XI, flammability studies relevant for classification criteria do not apply to liquids. Please refer to flash point under 4.11. The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid. In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI testing does not appear scientifically necessary. The flammability of liquids is determined on basis of their flash point in combination with their boiling point. The boiling range of the test substance could not be determined because the substance undergoes decomposition/a reaction. The flash point of the test substance was measured according to the guidelines EC method A.9, ISO 2719, ASTM D 93, ASTM D 7094 and UN paragr. 32.4.1. The flash-point of the test item was 78°C.
According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 criteria, the measured flash point does not lie between the threshold values of 23 and 60°C, therefore the substance is not classified as flammable liquid.
