Conclusion on classification

The substance has reliable short-term E(L)C50 values of 345 mg/l in fish, 583 mg/l in invertebrates and 275 mg/l in algae. A reliable NOEC 104 mg/l in algae is available.

The substance is a UVCB substance containing acetoxy/methoxy silanes and siloxanes with alkyl-epoxide and vinyl functional side chains in excess acetic acid and acetic anhydride. The constituents of the substance hydrolyse rapidly in water and are not readily biodegradable. The silanol hydrolysis products have low log Kow and high water solubility.

These data are consistent with the following classification under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (as amended) (CLP):

Aquatic Acute: Not classified.

Aquatic Chronic: Not classified
