Hydrolysis

Octylamine is stable in aqueous solution under ambient conditions.

Phototransformation in air

Using Atkinson's method, the photolysis rate constant in air (for indirect photolysis, OH- concentration: 500,000 molecule/cm³) was estimated to be 0.39E-12 cm³/(molecule*sec), and the half-life time approx. 10 hours, i.e 0.42 days (Hoechst 1992, BUA 1996).

Phototransformation in water

Photolysis in water is not expected.
