Description of key information

A study reported biological elimination of FAT 40069/A as 19 %. BOD5 and COD values of 24 and 787.94 mg O2/g were reported in two supporting studies, respectively. The relevant BOD5/COD quotient is <0.5, therefore the substance is not indicative of rapid degradation. Taking the data from the key study and supporting studies into account, the test substance FAT 40069 is considered to be not readily biodegradable. In abiotic degradation tests the test substance has been determined to be hydrolytically stable, i.e., a half-life of greater than 1 year at 25 °C, at pH 4, 44.4 hours at pH 7 and 0.934 hours at pH 9.
