Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No evidence of genetic toxicity was found in two independant reverse mutagenicity tests (Ames Test) by concentrations up to 10000 ug/plate.

Short description of key information:
The genetic toxicity of 1-Pentene has been assessed in two individual Ames Tests (bacterial reverse mutation assay), each time with four different strains of Salmonella typhimurium. Negative results were reported in all studies in the presence and/or absence of metabolic activation. Therefore is 1-Pentene not classified as a mutagenic substance.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

No evidence of genetic toxicity was found in two independant reverse mutagenicity tests (Ames Test) by concentrations up to 10000 ug/plate. Therefore, 1-Pentene is not classified as a mutagenic substance.
