Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance induced no visible or lethal effects in carp when tested according to OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals No 203. The LC50 observed after 96 hours was > 1000 mg/L (nominal)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Short-term toxicity to fish Cyprinus carpio was assessed according to OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test), and EU Method C.1 (Acute Toxicity for Fish) and in compliance with GLP. Carp were exposed under static conditions to the substance at concentrations of 12.5, 50 and 1000 mg/L in freshwater in a range finding test and then at a concentration of 1000 mg/L (nominal) in a limit test.

The final test was performed with 3 x 10 fish per vessel and exposed for 96h in a partially dispersed solution of the test substance with Cremophor RH40.

Under the conditions of the present study a supersatured solution of 1000 mg of the test item per litre ISO-medium did not induce mortality of fish or any other effects. Hence, the 96h-LC50 for carp exposed to the test substance was greater than the nominal concentration of 1000 mg/L, corresponding with an actual concentration of 158-176 mg/L.
