Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

In an acute toxicity test according to OECD TG 203 with Danio rerio the 96-hour LC50 of the test item was determined to be higher than 5.6 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

In an immobilisation study according to OECD TG 202, EU Method C.2 and US EPA OCSPP 850.10 the 48-hour EC50 of the test item towards Daphnia magna was determined to be 2.84 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae

In an Algae Growth Inhibition Test according to OECD 201 and EU Method C.3, the 72-hour EC10 and EC 50 towards Raphidocelis subcapitata based on growth rate was determined to be 1.70 mg/L and 7.31 mg/L, respectively. The 72-hour EC10 and EC 50 based on yield was determined to be 1.36 mg/L and 2.55 mg/L, respectively. The 72-hour NOEC both based on the growth rate and yield was 1.21 mg/L. All validity criteria of the test guideline were fulfilled. The study is thus regarded valid.

Toxicity to microorganisms

In a test according to OECD 209 the 3-hour EC10 and EC50 values of the test item were greater than 1000 mg/L. The NOEC was determined to be 1000 mg/L, the highest concentration tested.
