Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Target substance is a multi-constituent substance. The 2 constituents differ by a methyl group. The potential for ready biodegradation was tested according to OECD 301E on constituent 2 of target substance. Due to the structural similarity, such data is considered as representative of the whole substance. Details on the read-across are available in section 13.

A DOC removal of 10 - 20% DOC in 28 days was observed.

Triarylmethanes are known to be poorly biodegradable, in fact studies on the biodegradation of other triarylmethane dyes (Yatome et al. 1993) indicated that only minor parts of the C-backbone are susceptible to biodegradation.

Overall, the substance can be considered as not ready biodegradable.
