Details on results:
Preliminary test
The water solubility estimated from the preliminary test was >560 g/l. The actual concentration was >95% of the nominal concentration. Thus, almost all the test substance was dissolved.

No significant differences were observed between the concentrations analysed after the first and second centrifugation step.

The test substance / water mixture from the preliminary test was very viscous. It is to be expected that the viscosity of the mixture will increase even further, when more test substance is added.

Probably the viscosity will then become so high that stirring of the mixture is no longer possible.

For this reason, no further tests were conducted. Because it was not possible to stir a more concentrated solution the main study was not performed.

Executive summary:

The determination of the water solubility was based on the following guidelines:

OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No.105: "Water solubility (column elution method - flask method)", adopted May 12, 1981.

EEC Directive 92/69 EEC, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.6: "Water solubility". EEC Publication no. L383, December 1992.

The water solubility from the preliminary test was >560 g/l. The actual concentration was >95% of the nominal concentration. Thus almost all of the test substance was dissolved.

No significant differences were observed between the concentrations analysed after the first and second centrifugation steps.

The test substance / water mixture from the preliminary test was very viscous. It is to be expected, that the viscosity of the mixture will increase even further, when more test substance is added.

Probably, the viscosity will then become so high, that stirring of the mixture is no longer possible.

For this reason, no further tests were conducted. Because it was not possible to stir a more concentrated solution the main study was not perfomed.
