Description of first aid measures

Inhalation

Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Apply artificial respiration if breathing has ceased or shows signs of failing. If breathing is laboured, administer oxygen. Obtain immediate medical attention.

Skin Contact

Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected skin with water. If symptoms occur obtain medical attention.

Eye Contact

Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 15 minutes. Obtain immediate medical attention.

Further Medical Treatment

Symptomatic treatment and supportive therapy as indicated.

Fire-fighting measures

General

Combustible

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Combustion or thermal decomposition will evolve toxic and corrosive vapours. (hydrogen fluoride and possibly carbonyl fluoride)

Advice for firefighters A self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing should be worn in fire conditions.

Wear neoprene gloves when handling refuse from a fire involving this product, to protect against possible contamination with hydrofluoric acid.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Ensure full personal protection (including respiratory protection) during removal of spillages.

Environmental precautions

Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Collect spillage. Transfer to a lidded container for disposal or recovery.
