Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Nov 30 1995 - Dec 5 1995
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 420 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
No exothermic effects were determined up to 420 °C

The test substance showed an endothermal reaction at about 75 °C. No exceptionally exothermic effects (> 3 K) were determined up to this temperature of 420°C. The wire mesh enclosure was empty following the measurement. On the basis of this result the Bowes-Cameron-Cage-Test was omitted.

The test item is classified as not undergoing spontaneous combustion when tested according to this procedure.

Description of key information
