Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two in-house company studies on particle size were conducted. From the study of Butler (2010), the particle size distribution of [µ-[carbonato(2-)-O:O']]dihydroxydioxodizirconium was determined based on volumetric distribution, providing d10, d50 and d90 values of 21.47 µm, 31.55 µm and 46.31 µm, respectively. From the study of SEPR (2010), the particle size distribution of [µ-[carbonato(2-)-O:O']]dihydroxydioxodizirconium was determined based on volumetric distribution, providing d10, d50 and d90 values of 4.618 µm, 12.969 µm and 24.492 µm, respectively.

Additional information

It should be noted that zirconium basic carbonate has many particle size distributions depending on the manufacturing process and intended use as shown by the two studies performed. It is therefore not possible to conclude a representative d50 and the values should be individually considered representative.
