Evidence has been found that the BCF for bromine in water is around 200 for fish (A.E. Woods et al. (1979) Environmental Bromine in Freshwater and Freshwater Organisms: Factors Affecting Bioaccumulation). This is a factor 10 lower than the threshold of 2000 for PBT assessment. Waiving is done based on the fact that the available BCF's for bromine do not exceed the BCF threshold of 2000 in order to be labeled bioaccumulative.
