Description of key information

Toxicity to soil macrooganisms except arthropods - short-term

Based on a read across to the source substance Methanol the LC50 for short-term toxicity to soil macroorganisms is considered to be 10000 mg/kg soil dw.

Toxicity to soil macrooganisms except arthropods - long-term

In accordance with section 9.4.4, column 2 of Annex X as well as section 1.2 of Annex XI to Regulation EC 1907/2006 (REACH) long-term testing of toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods is considered scientifically not necessary and was waived.

Toxicity to terrestrial arthropods - short-term

In accordance with section 1.2 of Annex XI to Regulation EC 1907/2006 (REACH) short-term testing of toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods is considered scientifically not necessary and was waived.

Toxicity to terrestrial arthropods - long-term

In accordance with section 1.2 of Annex XI to Regulation EC 1907/2006 (REACH) short-term testing of toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods is considered scientifically not necessary and was waived.

Toxicity to terrestrial plants - short-term

In accordance with section 1.2 of Annex XI to Regulation EC 1907/2006 (REACH) short-term testing of toxicity to terrestrial plants is considered scientifically not necessary and was waived.

Toxicity to terrestrial plants - long-term

In accordance with section 1.2 of Annex XI to Regulation EC 1907/2006 (REACH) long-term testing of toxicity to terrestrial plants is considered scientifically not necessary and was waived.

Toxicity to soil microorganisms

In accordance with section 1.2 of Annex XI to Regulation EC 1907/2006 (REACH) short-term testing of toxicity to soil microorganisms is considered scientifically not necessary and was waived.

Toxicity to birds

Since the substance exhibits a low log Pow secondary poisoning is unlikely to be a relevant exposure route. The study on toxicity to birds is hence considered scientificall not necessary.

A large data set on mammalian toxicity is provided; additional testing on toxicity to birds is therefore not needed in compliance with section 9.6.1, column 2 of Annex X to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH). Moreover, since the substance exhibits a low log Pow (see IUCLID section 4.7), secondary poisoning is unlikely to be a relevant exposure route and the endpoint was thus waived.
