Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Key study: experimental results from a study report, according to OECD guideline 471 and directive 2000/32/EC, part B.13/14. Salmonella typhimurium TA97a, TA98, TA100, TA102 and TA1535, with and without metabolic activation. The

test was performed according to the "direct plate incorporation method". Negative and positive controls were included.

In none of the concentrations tested and with none of the strains used an increase of the mutation frequency to more than the threshold values was obtained. Metabolic activation did not change these results.

It is concluded that Zirkonium-tetrakis(isobutyrato) is non-mutagenic in the Ames test with the strains TA97a, TA98, TA100, TA102 and TA1535 with and without an external metabolising system up to the limit of toxicity.

Short description of key information:
Genetic toxicity: key study: results from a study report leadinf to the conclusion that Zirkonium-tetrakis(isobutyrato) is non-mutagenic in the Ames test with the strains TA97a, TA98, TA100, TA102 and TA1535 with and without an external metabolising system up to the limit of toxicity.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)
