Description of key information
Mixtures of the test substance and air, at ambient temperature and 1 atm., were prepared and subjected to hot wire ignition. The results indicate that HFPO is non-flammable in mixtures with air.

Mixtures of the test substance and air, at ambient temperature and 1 atm., were prepared in a 566 cc., cylindrical vessel, and subjected to hot wire ignition. The experimental mixtures contained 15%; 25%; 30%; 45%; 55%; and 70% (vol.) test substance, respectively. The last three samples gave slight indications of initiation, which consisted of pressure pulses of about 2 psi developed at extremely slow rates, on the order of 0.1 psi/sec. The authors interpret this activity as involving only nonpropagating reaction about the igniter. The results indicate that HFPO is non-flammable in mixtures with air.
