Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Mechanical Sensitivity (Shock): the test substance is not classified as explosive in terms of its mechanical sensitivity with respect to shock.

Mechanical Sensitivity (Friction): the test substance is not classified as explosive in tems of its mechanical sensitivity with respect to friction.

Thermal sensitivity: the test substance is not classified as explosive in terms of its thermal sensitivity. The test substance does not present a risk of explosion when heated under confinement.
Executive summary:

Introduction

The Explosiveness testing consisted of 3 tests:-

1)Bam FallHammer-The test is designed to measure the sensitiveness of substances to impact. The test is conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A14.

2)Bam Friction-The test is designed to measure the sensitiveness of solid (including paste-like and gel-type) substances to friction. The test is conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A14.

3)Koenen Tube-To determine the effect of heating the substance in a steel tube, closed by orifice plates with differing diameters of hole, to determine whether the substance is liable to explode under conditions of intense heat and defined confinement.

Results and Conclusion

1)Bam Fallhammer:-The sample was placed in the impact device and the 10 kg weight dropped from a height of 40 cm which is equivalent to 40 J. If an "explosion" was observed, the impact energy was reduced to 7.5 J and further tests conducted.

2)Bam Friction :- The sample of the test substance was observed to exhibit no reaction at 360 N. The test result is therefore considered Negative (-) (according to the EC Classification, Packaging & Labelling of Dangerous Substances in the European Union Part 2, Testing Methods, Jan 97).

3) Koenen Tube :-The sample did not exhibit an explosion during any of the tests. The test result is therefore considered Negative.
