Reference
Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Study period:
This study was conducted between 17 June 2017 and 01 August 2017
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
Test System
The prediction was carried out using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.17 Oxidising Properties (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Performance of the Prediction
The test item is a multi-component mixture, the structures of the components have been assessed for chemical groups that imply oxidizing properties. Examples of such groups are nitrates, metal oxides, hypofluorites, difluoroaminopolynitroaryls, perchlorates, bromates and iodites.
Full structural details are given in Bretherick’s Handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards, 7th Edition, Academic Press, 2007.

Evaluation of Data
If there are no structural alerts within the structure then the oxidizing properties can be predicted negative.

Results
There were no structural alerts within the chemical structure of the test item.

Conclusion
Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Identification: 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, reaction products with triethylenetetramine
Appearance/ Physical state: Pale yellow paste
Batch: #01725
Purity: UVCB
Expiry date: 01 September 2021
Storage conditions: Room temperature in the dark
Conclusions:
Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.
Executive summary:

The hazardous physico-chemical properties of 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, reaction products with triethylenetetramine have been determined.

Oxidising Properties (Solids).Predicted negative based on the chemical structuresof the test item, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.17Oxidising Properties (Liquids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.
