Preliminary test

From 250°C upwards the weight of the sample decreased significantly. At 305°C and 313°C, the sample weight had decreased by 25% and 70 %, respectively. After the experiment it was observed that the test substance was evaporated from the sample container.

First experiment:

During cooling an exothermic peak was observed between 0°C and -20°C. The effect was obtained due to crystallization of the test substance. During heating a first endothermic peak was observed between 0°C and 50°C. The extrapolated onset temperature of the peak was 20.90°C. The effect was due to melting of the test substance.

Second experiment:

Similar results as with the first experiment were obtained. The extrapolated onset of the first endothermic peak due to melting was 20.13°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The melting temperature of the substance was determined using DSC. The melting temperature of the substance is 21°C (294 K).
