Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
There are no reactive groups present in the molecule having the potential for rapid energy release (e.g. none of the chemical groups listed in table A6.1, Appendix 6, Screening Procedures, chapter 3, Manual of Tests and Criteria).

In addition, there are two decomposition reactions observed. The first decomposition reaction started with an onset temperature of 205°C, peak 242°C, endset temperature ca. 275°C. The decomposition energy was 59 J/g. The second decomposition reaction was recorded with an onset temperature of 320°C (peak 331°C, endset temperature ca. 350°C) showing a decomposition energy of 13 J/g.
The DSC figure is attached. For details of the measurement please see chapter 4.2 melting point.
