Description of key information

Benzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid 1,2-anhydride, oligomeric reaction products with ethane-1,2-diol and glycerol was found to be non toxic to fish (cyprinuc carpio) with a 96h LC50 greater than 100 mg/L in an OECD 203 guideline study.

A long term toxicity study was conducted on Daphnia Magna according to OECD 211. The EL50 on immobilization was found to be 58 mg/L Loading Rate WAF and the EL50 for reproduction was found to be 65 mg/L Loading Rate WAF.

The substance was reported to have no toxicity to the green algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata, with a 72-h ErC50 value for growth greater than 100 mg/L (TWA) in an OECD guideline study (Test No. 201).

The substance was reported to have no toxicity to microorganisms (Pseudomonas Putida), with a 3-h EC50 value for growth inhibition greater than 1000 mg/L (nominal) in an OECD 209 study.
