Reference
Name:
4,4'-Methylene-bis-(3-chloro-2,6- diethylaniline) (LE composition)
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Related composition:
4,4'-Methylene-bis-(3-chloro-2,6- diethylaniline) (boundary composition)
Reference substance:
4,4'-Methylene-bis-(3-chloro-2,6- diethylaniline) (LE composition)
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The review of the ECB-PBT Working Group in 2005 identified the substance as potential vPvB candidate. Therefore, the notifier was asked to provide additional information about usage.

LonzaCure M-CDEA is used as a hardener in the production of polymers intended to come into contact with foodstuff. A study available on residues in the polyurethane elastomer polymer shows that the residual amount of the substance is very low. Also, no residues of the substance remain to be released into the environment after the production process. Finally, after processing, the equipment is cleaned with organic solutions which are then incinerated. Hence, according to the notifier, exposure of the environment will be negligible

Taking this information together, the substance may be considered as a potential PBT / vPvB, but without high priority for further evaluation. On account of no exposure, further risk management is not considered necessary.
