Description of key information

A chronic 21 day Daphnia reproduction test gave a NOEC value 160 mg/l (dry wt.). This key result (NOEC) has been used as a basis of aquatic PNEC derivation and used as a key study for environmental hazard Chronic classification.
GLS is not a completely homogenous particulate UVCB industrial by-product. It is not unexpectedly that no clear dose response relationships were seen in the tests. The method of preparation of the test solutions from this kind of non-homogenous test material may have an influence on true concentrations of potential toxicants in the different test solutions.
