Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The relevant parameter for the long-term toxicity on aquatic invertebrates is the NOEC of 0.8 mg/L obtained in a 21-d reproduction study on Daphnia magna.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
0.8 mg/L

Additional information

The lowest NOEC from a long-term study on invertebrates is 0.8 mg/l (21-d reproduction study onDaphnia magna). Another consistent NOEC value (2.2 mg/L) is also available for this species however the validity of the study cannot be evaluated due to lack of information.

The toxicity of quinoline on the development of a pulmonate snail has also been studied and, similar as in the acute studies, this species is less sensitive to this chemical. The NOEC is 12.5 mg/L.
