Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The 3-hour EC50 value for urea phosphate to activated sludge was >100 mg/L with a NOEC of 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

In a reliable OECD 209 guideline study, the respiration rate of the predominatly domestic sludge was determined after exposure to 100 mg/L urea phosphate for three hours. No inhibition of respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at 100 mg Urea Phosphate per litre. Therefore, the 3 -hr EC50 was determined to be >100 mg/L and the NOEC was 100 mg/L.

This was confirmed in a study with urea. The 72 hour toxicity threshold of Entosiphon sulcatum to urea was 29 mg/l, and the 16 hour toxicity threshold of urea to Pseudomonas putida was > 10000 mg/l.
