Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The boiling point of the test substance is determined to be 189.9°C at 1013 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
190 °C

Additional information

A boiling point value of 189.9°C at 1013.25 hPa is reported. The robust study summary is based upon a company study report. The study report provides the Antoine vapour pressure-temperature correlation. However, the vapour pressure data used to generate the Antoine coefficients and the methods used to obtain the data are not provided. Consequently, the reliability of the data or the calculated boiling point is with restrictions. This study has been selected because the report contained the Antoine pressure-temperature correlation which has been derived from the measured data. Also it is one of the highest values reported, thus yielding a conservative endpoint for exposure assessment.

Other boiling points are cited in the literature and support the key study:

A boiling point range of 189 to 191°C was obtained from a handbook which has been subject to peer-review and in which the original data sources are traceable. A boiling point value of 189.2°C is sourced from a toxicological report but no further details are available. Therefore the reliability of this result is not assignable. A boiling point of 185.3°C was also obtained using an appropriate QSAR method. The result is considered to be reliable.
