Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The study performed with a dried substance according to OECD Guideline 102 (differential scanning calorimetry, GLP conditions) revealed the substance decomposition already during melting at ca. 100 °C. In another DSC experiment according to ASTM 537-07 the boiling point of a high (ca. 73%) water content substance was determined 153.06 °C at ca. 1013 hPa. For a chemical safety assessment, the read-across value of 187 °C can be taken from a similar alkyl sulfate: Sulfuric acid, mono-C12-14-alkyl esters, sodium salts (CAS 85586-07-8, OECD 103, DSC, at 1010 hPa), as the water was in this case eliminated prior to the experiment.
