Description of key information

The surface tension is 27.2 mN/m (c = 1 g/L) at 20.1 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
27.2
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

The surface tension of the substance was determined using the ring method in accordance with EU Method A.5 and OECD Guideline 105. Another study (OECD 105, ring method) revealed a value of 34.1 mN/m at 25 °C. Since the surface tension is significantly less than 60 mN/m, the substance is considered to be surface active.
