Tributyl phosphate is a non volatile liquid substance with low water solubility and low vapour pressure. It can be absorbed via Gastro-Intestinal Tract (GIT) and via skin contact or inhalation of mists.

 

Tributyl phosphatehas harmonised classification at the EU level and it is classified asXn; R22: Harmful if swallowed(in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC) and Acute toxicity – oral, Acute Tox. 4, H302: Harmful if swallowed (in accordance with the GHS criteria of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008).

 

Additionally, based on the acute toxicity data summarized in this section, it is proposed to classifytributyl phosphate in accordance with the CLP/GHS rules for acute toxicity classification as acute toxicity inhalation toxicant Category 4, H332: Harmful if inhalled.
