Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The toxicity of methyl undecylenate towards microorganisms was assessed by activated sludge respiration assay, performed according to OECD guideline under GLP. According to the study report, methyl undecylenate does not affect the respiration of activated sludge in the conditions of the test up to a concentration of 1 mg/L (limit of solubility). According to the toxicity testing Elf Atochem (1995) performed in the framework of an OECD 301B test using a readily biodegradable substance as a control, no toxicity to microorganisms was seen up to 28.2 mg/L. A NOEC for PNECstp derivation is derived: NOEC = 28.2 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
28.2 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of methyl undecylenate towards microorganisms was assessed by activated sludge respiration assay, performed according to OECD 209 guideline under GLP and therefore rated Klimisch 1. The NOEC for PNECstp derivation is therefore equal to 28.2 mg/L
