Key result
Parameter:
other: Thermal stability
Remarks on result:
other: The heat of decomposition was below 500 J/g.

Two DSC measurements in closed glass crucibles showed endothermal effects in the temperature range of 45-70 °C, 105-125 °C and 130-150 °C. An exothermal effect was observed in the temperature range of 370 - 490 °C with a maximum energy release of 202 J/g. Above 490 °C and 470 °C, respectively, the baseline became ambiguous possibly due to a pressure built-up.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The heat of decomposition in the DCS measurements was below 500 J/g. Therefore, the main test on explosive properties was not necessary. It was concluded that the test item had no explosive properties.

Description of key information

The test item had no explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The decomposition temperature of the test item was below 500 J/g and therefore the main test on explosive properties was not necessary. Hence, the test it is not considered to be explosive according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
