Description of key information

The substance is expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in aquatic and terrestrial environments.

Additional information

Based on the available results from structurally related read-across substances (in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5) which are characterized by a similar ecotoxicological profile and comparable structure, and based on QSAR calculations (VEGA (1.1.4); Ready Biodegradability Model (v1.0.9)), it can be concluded that Neopentyl glycol dicaprate (CAS No. 27841-06-1) is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Thus, the substance is expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in aquatic and terrestrial environments.
