Key result
Flash point:
74.5 °C
Atm. press.:
1 010.3 hPa

In the preliminary test the lowest temperature where an ignition was observed was 103°C.

In the main test the lowest temperature where an ignition was observed was 74.5°C. The measured flash point is corrected to the ambient pressure to be 74.6°C. The resulting corrected flash point rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5°C is 74.5°C. The detailed test results are listed in the table in the next section.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item Imidazolium compounds, 2-C4-8-alkyl-1-(2-carboxyethyl)-4,5-dihydro-3-(hydroxyethyl), hydroxides, sodium salts (CAS no. 70983-43-6) has a flash point of 74.5 °C (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C) according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.9. Flash Point and DIN EN ISO 3679 (2004).
Based on the results the test item is classified as follows:
UN Transport Regulation: As the test item has a measured flash point of 74.5 °C (> 60 °C), it has not to be classified in class 3 as flammable liquid.
GHS (CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.6): As the test item has a measured flash point of 74.5 °C (> 60 °C), it has not to be classified as flammable liquid.
Executive summary:

The test item Imidazolium compounds, 2 -C4 -8 -alkyl-1 -(2 -carboxyethyl)-4,5 -dihydro-3 -(hydroxyethyl), hydroxides, sodium salts (CAS no.70983 -43 -6) has a flash point of 74.5 °C (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C) according to Regulation EC No.
