Description of key information

The test substance is a dark brown powder. No melting point could be determined till 350 °C, as the test substance started to decompose at about 300 °C. Therefore, also a boiling point could not be determined. The average density of the test substance according to OECD guideline 109 was determined to be 1.6098 g/cm³. The median particle size was determined to be 37.596 μm. A study to determine the vapour pressure of the test substance is not required, as no melting point could be detected until 350°C. The n-octanol/water partition coefficient of the test item was determined to be 2.28 (log Pow = 0.357). The water solubility of the test item (without correction for the purity) at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to be 55 g/L. The surface tension was determined to be 50.604 mN/m at the room temperature (ca 20 °C). Study not necessary, as the test substance is a powder/ solid at room temperature with a melting point >300 °C and also undergoes thermic decomposition. The autoignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 440 °C. The test substance was classified as not highly flammable. Based on the screening evaluation, the substance is considered to be non-explosive. In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, this study does not need to be conducted as this substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of its chemical structure.
